BrainTap®

Brain Fitness for Stress, Focus & Lasting Change

You can know exactly what to eat, what habits you need to change and what you should be doing—and still struggle to consistently do it.

Why?

Because lasting wellness isn’t only physical.

The mind matters, too.

At Carrie’s Weight & Wellness, BrainTap is one of the science

backed tools we use to address the mental and psychological side of lifestyle change. BrainTap combines guided audio, rhythmic sound, light stimulation and gentle vibration to encourage the brain into a calmer, more relaxed and focused state.

Think of it as fitness for your brain.

You train your body through repetition. BrainTap gives you an

opportunity to practice relaxation, focus, positive mental rehearsal and healthier thought patterns through repetition, too.

More Than Willpower

One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding weight loss is that people simply need more willpower.

We disagree.

Sometimes you know exactly what you need to do—but you’re mentally exhausted.

Maybe you have:

Lost your motivation

Struggled with consistency

Fallen back into old habits

Experienced emotional or stress-driven eating

Had difficulty sleeping

Felt overwhelmed or mentally scattered

Started questioning whether you can really make lasting changes

That is why our approach looks beyond food alone.

BrainTap allows us to work on the mindset component of wellness while we’re teaching you how to care for the physical body.

Training Your Nervous System to Slow Dow

Your autonomic nervous system has two important sides. One helps you respond to demands and stress.

The other supports rest, recovery and relaxation. Both are necessary.

The problem occurs when we rarely give ourselves an opportunity to transition out of a heightened stress state.

Through a combination of light, sound, guided visualization and vibration, BrainTap is designed to encourage relaxation and focused brainwave activity.

This is not about shutting your brain off.

It is about learning how to slow it down.

What Can Brain Fitness Support?

Because sometimes the next step isn’t learning more.

Sometimes it’s creating enough mental space to begin practicing what you already know.

BrainTap sessions may support:

Why BrainTap?

Modern life keeps many of us in a constant state of mental  stimulation.

Work.

Family.

Hormonal changes.

Poor sleep.

Responsibilities.

Stress.

And the never-ending mental list of what needs to happen next. Over time, it can become difficult to truly slow down.

This can be particularly noticeable during perimenopause and menopause, when hormonal changes may occur alongside disrupted sleep, changes in mood, increased stress and difficulty concentrating.

When the nervous system remains chronically activated, it can become harder to feel focused, motivated and intentional about the choices we make.

BrainTap creates intentional time to shift away from that constant “go, go, go” state and encourage the body’s natural rest-and recovery response.

Reduce stress by almost 40% in just 20 minutes

What Does the Science Say?

Research examining BrainTap and similar audiovisual brain entrainment technology has shown promising changes in measurable markers associated with relaxation and autonomic nervous-system activity.

In one study involving 100 adults, researchers evaluated participants before and after a single 20-minute audiovisual brain entrainment session using BrainTap technology.

Following the session, researchers reported a 38.5% improvement in the measured Stress Index, along with improvements in heart rate variability and markers associated with parasympathetic—or rest-and-recovery—activity.

One session. Twenty minutes. A measurable change in the body’s stress response.

This does not mean every individual will experience a 38.5% reduction in stress, nor does it mean BrainTap treats a medical condition. It does, however, demonstrate why technologies aimed at relaxation and nervous-system regulation are an exciting addition to a whole-person wellness approach.

Additional research into audiovisual and brainwave entrainment has explored potential benefits involving stress, anxiety, sleep, mood and cognitive performance. Research continues to develop in this field.

Why We May Recommend Up to 6 Weeks

We don’t expect your physical body to become stronger after one workout.

The same principle applies to brain fitness.

One BrainTap session can be incredibly relaxing—but our greater goal is repetition.

Depending on your individual goals, we may incorporate BrainTap sessions consistently for up to six weeks as part of your wellness plan.

It gives you repeated opportunities to practice:

Relaxation.

Focus.

Mental rehearsal.

Positive thinking.

Intentional responses.

Healthier habits.

You aren’t simply trying to “get motivated.”

You’re creating an environment where your brain has an opportunity to practice something different.

The MINDSHIFT

Our programs have never been about simply handing someone another diet.

We want to teach you how your body works.

But we also want to help you understand the person making the choices.

Your habits matter.

Your thoughts matter.

Your stress matters.

Your environment matters.

And your mindset matters.

BrainTap is simply one tool we can use to help bring those pieces together.

Because sustainable wellness requires more than changing what’s on your plate.

It requires changing the way you approach your life.

THE BODY FOLLOWS WHERE THE MIND LEADS.

Train the mind. Support the body. Build habits that can last.
